Frequently Asked Questions

Is coaching right for me?

Are you ready to make a change? Make a move in your career? Turning an idea into an entrepreneurial venture? Pursue your artistic dreams? Coaching works by creating a judgement-free zone where you have the freedom to stretch and explore what’s possible. Together, we will explore your goals, develop a plan, and celebrate as your goals are realized.

As a coach, what does Nancy do?

  • Listen to what is most important to you

  • Build your trust in me and in the coaching process

  • Ask questions to get you thinking and help you stay focused on your goals.

  • Acknowledge your perspective and your accomplishments

  • Provide clear and truthful thoughts as events develop

  • Challenge you to stretch – and stretch some more

  • Be there when things get tough – they might

  • Help you find the inspiration to motivate yourself and to create change

  • Believe in you and celebrate your success together

What can I achieve through coaching?

When people show-up for coaching sessions with an open mind, fully engage in the conversation, and begin to take action towards their goals, people find their perspectives shift. Some new or advanced skills clients have shared as a result of coaching include:

  • Find clarity about what’s most important to you, why you want it and what is holding you back

  • Stretch to explore a full range of possibilities

  • Discover how other people see you and how you view yourself

  • Gain a new appreciation for your strengths, talents, passions, values and past accomplishments

  • Analyze unproductive patterns and opportunities for change

  • Create strategies to resolve conflicts and produce results

  • Motivate yourself wit

  • Discover what blocks your progress and fine-tune your approach to get better results

  • Celebrate your wins and learn from your losses

How can I tell if the coaching is working?

As you begin coaching, the change you want to create begins to come into focus. Starting with the first session and continuing over weeks or months, you decide where you want to focus your energy and what actions you want to take. You zero-in on what is most important then figure out what to do and take action. We acknowledge your actions and build on the knowledge and experience you gain to achieve your goals and create real and sustainable change.

Count on consistent acknowledgement from me. As your confidence grows, it becomes easier to stretch your imagination, make important breakthroughs, , overcome obstacles and achieve results. Be prepared to create results that far exceed the expectations you set when you began coaching.

Can coaching fail?

Unfortunately, yes. Coaching doesn’t work when a coach and client fail to “click” and are unable to establish the trust which is essential to open and honest communication. Coaching works when you show-up for your sessions with an open mind and ready to work – even if you don’t have a specific topic to discussion

To explore if we are potentially good match, schedule a complimentary coaching session and decide if I am the right coach for you. For multi-session coaching programs, we will assess what is and isn’t working and make the necessary adjustments before we move forward.

Can We Work Around My Schedule?

Always. Use the online schedule to book your coaching sessions. If you are an early bird like me and prefer a coaching session before 8:00 AM (ET), definitely email me. I am happy to start my mornings exploring your next steps.

Once I’ve achieved my goals...then what?

You celebrate! The hard work is done and you have the results to prove it. Return anytime for Spotlight coaching, or further one-on-one or group coaching. Also, consider special programs like the Intentionality series where you can connect with others change-makers like yourself.

Before I met Nancy, I was skeptical of coaching. Two years later, she is the first person I call when I need advice. I finally feel that my career goals, talents and personal values are aligned.
